Employee Spotlight: Esmeralda Belivet
Behind every great show is a team of people working tirelessly to create memorable experiences, not just for fans, but for the artists who take the stage.
Today, we're pulling back the curtain to shine a spotlight on our Director of Artist Hospitality, Esmeralda Belivet. She plays a key role in making sure performers feel welcome, comfortable, and supported from the moment they arrive. From managing backstage riders to making the talent feel right at home in Milwaukee, Esmeralda ensures that the artists love our city just as much as we do.
What is the best show you’ve ever seen at our venues?
David Byrne - everyone said it's the best show you'll see and it did not disappoint!

If you could bring any artist here (living or dead), who would it be?
Selena Quintanilla - she was a staple of my childhood. It was one of my first memories seeing a Latina woman represented and accepted by the world. For me she was a great example of why representation matters.
What’s one thing about your job that people would be surprised to learn?
Artists are just like all of us. People I meet often ask about the lore of working with artists: what are they really like, what crazy things do they ask for, etc? And I always reply with "they're just like us." Most of the artists we have the pleasure of working with are really wonderful and friendly. It's really cool being a part of their entire day and then watching them perform.
If a tour asked for one "must-see" spot in Milwaukee, where are you sending them?
I get a ton of tours asking what to do in the area, here are my personal top picks that I enjoy doing:
-
To do (inside): Milwaukee Public Museum - specifically the butterfly exhibit and Steets of Old Milwaukee (see it while you can!)
-
To do (outside): A pontoon ride on the Milwaukee River with a stop for lunch and a High Life at Barnacle Buds
-
To eat: Goodkind - everything on the menu is delicious
-
To drink: The Newport - can't get much more Wisconsin than that
-
LGBTQ+: Walker's Pint - never a bad time at the pint!
You don't have to name names but what are some of the most interesting things you've seen pop up on a rider?
One of the more odd requests was: "1 random taxidermy animal (preferably a small rodent playing a banjo, but will take anything that fits in the van)"
What is the most 'only in this job' moment you’ve had, the kind of thing that could only happen working live events?
I had the pleasure of working on the filming of a comedy special for my favorite comedian of all time. After filming the comedian, crew, and I sat and had celebratory drinks after two long days of hard work. We talked for hours about life, exchanged secrets, and had lots of laughs. I now consider this person a good friend whom I can call anytime and know they'll pick up.
Whether she's coordinating behind the scenes, sharing Milwaukee's hidden gems, or tracking down the occasional taxidermy banjo-playing rodent, Esmeralda brings warmth, authenticity, and care to every artist's experience. Her work helps make our venues feel less like a stop on a tour and more like a home away from home. So, the next time you’re cheering from the crowd or grabbing a drink before a set, remember that people like Esmeralda are working hard backstage to make Milwaukee a favorite stop for every artist.
