The Astronomers are the band you can’t help but root for. Led by frontman Michael Stensland and producer Ben Baker, the Wisconsin-based duo delivers a dynamic, high-energy sound that fuses pop, rock, and electronic influences into something uniquely their own. Since forming in 2019, they’ve proudly remained independent—writing, producing, mixing, and mastering every track from their home studio in Oshkosh.
The Astronomers broke onto the scene in 2020 with their breakout single Overthinking, which hit #1 on top 40 station 101.1 WIXX on Christmas Eve. Follow-ups like Bad Type and Hotel Rooms kept the momentum going, with Hotel Rooms charting at #88 on U.S. Top 40 radio and also reaching #1 on WIXX.
Known for their feel-good anthems, and captivating live show, The Astronomers have toured extensively across the U.S.—including recently opening for Quinn XCII at The Sylvee in Madison, WI.
