Event Details
Milwaukee mayoral primaries without an incumbent happen about as often as cicadas emerge (around every 17 years)!
This is a rare event that is important for the future of the city you live in. Now is the time to get informed, learn more about the candidates and use your voice to VOTE for the changes you want to see in our community.
Ahead of the February 15th primary, Milwaukee Mayoral candidates will take part in an election forum at historic Turner Hall Ballroom (where many legendary political events have taken place) on Wednesday, February 9th from 7-9PM. Moderators will be TMJ4's Charles Benson and Journal Sentinel's James Causey.
It's free and open to the public but registration for in-person attendance is required and seating will be limited. The forum will also be livestreamed at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Facebook page. You must show proof of vaccination to attend.
Fewer people voted in the 2016 Mayoral primary than attended the last Packers game. LET’S CHANGE THAT!
The candidates:
Milwaukee Ald. Marina Dimitrijevic
Former Milwaukee Ald. Bob Donovan
Milwaukee community activist Ieshuh Griffin
Acting Mayor and Milwaukee Common Council President Cavalier Johnson
Milwaukee County Sheriff Earnell Lucas
Business owner Michael Sampson
State Sen. Lena Taylor
Vaccination Requirement
Valid proof of full vaccination for all guests over the age of 12 years old (final dose must be at least 14 days prior to the event date). This can be in the form of a digital passport, photo of the vaccination card or the physical vaccination card. Proof of a booster shot is not required.
